Research Interests

The sources, fate and environmental behavior of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), especially brominated flame retardants (BFRs) products such as decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-209), hexabromocyclodecane (HBCD) and tetrabromobisphenol-A (TBBP-A). In the last several years, the environmental behavior of BFRs, e.g., the contamination levels and distribution patterns of BFRs in virous environmental media and organisms, as well as the BFRs levels in local residents serum samples from BFRs production area inChina, were systematically studied. Meanwhile, the occurrence and uptake of PBDEs contaminants in humans and associated toxicology were preliminarily studied. Currently, the assessment of the relationship between the PBDEs and degradation products OH-PBDEs exposure levels in local residents in BFRs source area and their healthy status is being conducted.
